Interview
Interviewer: Welcome, Miriam and Chibuzor! It’s such a pleasure to have you share your story with us. Miriam, let’s start with you. How did the two of you meet?
Miriam: Thank you for having us. Chibuzor and I met through mutual friends at a conference. We connected over a discussion on literature, and from there, our conversations just flowed. It was as if we’d known each other for ages.
Interviewer: That sounds like a meeting of minds. Chibuzor, could you share the story of your proposal?
Chibuzor: Certainly. I knew I wanted to incorporate our shared love for literature, so I arranged a small, private reading at a bookstore that we love. I had a custom bookmark placed inside her favorite book, which she found as she read aloud. The bookmark asked, “Will you marry me?” It was a very emotional and fitting moment for us.
Interviewer: How beautifully thoughtful! Now, Miriam, why did you decide to have both a traditional ceremony and a court wedding?
Miriam: It was important for us to honor our roots and the legal aspect of our union. The traditional ceremony allowed us to celebrate with our customs and traditions, which are dear to us. The court wedding, on the other hand, was a quieter, more intimate affirmation of our commitment in the eyes of the law.
Interviewer: Moving on to the traditional ceremony, Chibuzor, what moment stands out the most for you?
Chibuzor: The most memorable moment was seeing Miriam in her traditional attire for the first time. She looked absolutely stunning, and I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and joy. It was a powerful reminder of our roots and the journey we were embarking on together.
Interviewer: Miriam, how did you feel during the court wedding?
Miriam: The court wedding was serene and deeply meaningful. Exchanging vows in such an intimate setting, with just a few loved ones and the vastness of our commitment ahead of us, was incredibly special. It felt like a sacred promise, just between us and the universe.
Interviewer: Chibuzor, weddings can be quite stressful to plan. How did you manage stress throughout the process?
Chibuzor: Open and honest communication was key. We made sure to tackle tasks together and kept reminding ourselves of the significance of what we were planning. Taking time to disconnect and just enjoy each other’s company also helped keep things in perspective.
Interviewer: Miriam, any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
Miriam: Start with what’s most important to you and build around that. Don’t get lost in the details. Remember, it’s about celebrating your love and starting your life together, not just about the event itself.
Interviewer: Looking back, is there anything you’d change about your ceremonies?
Miriam: Honestly, everything went beautifully, and even the few hiccups we had just added to the memories. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Chibuzor: Agreed. Each moment, perfect and flawed, was a reflection of real life. It was our start, and I cherish how it unfolded.
Interviewer: Lastly, what are you both most looking forward to in your marriage?
Miriam: Growing together, learning from each other, and building a family that’s grounded in love, respect, and understanding.
Chibuzor: And facing life’s challenges together, knowing we have each other’s backs no matter what comes our way.
Interviewer: Miriam, Chibuzor, thank you both for sharing your beautiful story with us. Congratulations again, and we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
Miriam and Chibuzor: Thank you! We’re grateful for the chance to share our journey and for the good wishes. Here’s to a future filled with love, adventure, and shared stories.
